RE-INSTATEMENT OF REGISTRATION

Former Dental Technician registrants may at any time apply for re-instatement.  Specific requirements are set out in the College Bylaws, sections 29(3), (4) and (5) regarding reinstatment, depending on the number of years you have been off the Register.

If you wish to be registered as a Dental Technician WITHIN TWO YEARS of your last registrant, you will be required to:

  • apply for registration (see section 28 of the Bylaws);
  • pay registration application fee (see section 35(1) of the Bylaws) and prorated registration fee (see section 35(2) of the Bylaws);
  • satisfy the continuing education requirements (see section 29(3) of the Bylaws)
  • complete a solemn declaration in Form 1 (MUST BE NOTARISED); and
  • provide proof of having obtained professional liability insurance coverage in an amount of at least $1,000,000 per loss (eg. copy of personal certificate of insurance).

If you wish to be registered as a Dental Technician MORE THAN TWO YEARS since your last registration, you will be required to:

  • apply for registration (see section 28 of the Bylaws);
  • pay registration application fee (see section 35(1) of the Bylaws) and prorated registration fee (see section 35(2) of the Bylaws);
  • satisfy the continuing education requirements (see section 29(4) of the Bylaws), refer to Continuing Education Guide in the Blue Binder;
  • complete a solemn declaration in Form 1 (MUST BE NOTARISED);
  • provide two letters of reference to indicate that you are of good character and fit to practice as a dental technician;
  • provide proof of having obtained professional liability insurance coverage in an amount of at least $1,000,000 per loss (eg. copy of personal certificate of insurance); and
  • pass the written and/or practical examinations as required by the Board (see section 29(4)(d) of the Bylaws). Policy has been developed by the Board to address this discretionary section.
